Moving in Place, by Michael Auping and Barbara Buhler-LInes

Susan Rothenberg (1945 - 2020), American artist: this book accompanied a retrospective exhibition of her work, “Moving in Place” at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth (2009) which moved to the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum in Santa Fe, NM, and The Miami Art Museum. The show explored Rothenberg’s work from the early minimalist abstract/figurative paintings of horses through the expressionist figurative paintings through 2008.

The book contains lushly printed images of the paintings, an introduction by Barbara Buhler Lines, an essay by Michael Auping, organizer of the exhibition, and narrative comments by Rothenberg on many of the paintings in the show.
