A 19th Century Spanish Colonial wooden carving (bulto) of Saint Anthony of Padua, gessoed and polychromed, with glass eyes as are often seen in carvings from Mexico in the early 19th Century, if not earlier. In one hand the saint holds a book, the other hand is poised to hold a cross (missing). Wood, paint with typical signs of chipped paint and wear and tear for its age, 13 inches tall, 5 inches wide, standing upon a beveled wooden base 5 ¾  x 4 ½  x ¾ inches.
