Glass and Tin Nicho with triple pinnacles at the top, punched tin framework with squiggly decorative soldered embellishments, and stars at all corners. The glass edges of the front piece were once mirrored but most of the mirroring been scratched off. The front of the generous shadow box has a hinged opening, glass sides all around and a darkened tin back. The old print depicts “The Immaculate Conception of the Venerables” by Spanish painter Bartolome Esteban Murillo circa 1678.

The overall style of the nicho is very similar to the work of New Mexico tinsmith Jose Maria Apodaca, active 1890 - 1910. The face of the nicho measures 12 ½ x 21 inches; the shadow box is 7 × 11 ½ x 5 inches.
