Guardian Angel by Carmen Romero Velarde

$50.00

Carmen Romero Velarde, (1928 – 2022), of Taos County, was a remarkable artist who received many awards for her handbuilt adobe fireplaces, retablos and handmade traditional outdoor adobe ovens, called hornos.

“Guardian Angel”, not dated, features a serene countenanced winged angel, hands folded in prayer, wearing a diaphanous white robe, and with a gold radiance around her head, placed upon a pale gray-blue background. Acrylic paint on wood panel, signed on the rear along with a prayer, 5 × 6 × ¾ inches.
