Hopi Badger Kachina by Otto Pentewa, well-known Hopi carver of kachinas (1886 – 1961), from Oraibi Village at Hopi in Arizona. The badger has paw marks on his face a toothy snout, and a thin black and white stripe down the center of his face. Made with cottonwood, paint, and string knots holding the feather headdress in place on top and back of the head, circa 1930s, 4 ½ inches tall.
