The back of the frame has a rough sawn thin board which fits perfectly in the back of the frame, and is easily removed for you to put a photo or drawing within. and a loop of wire for hanging. This frame is probably European, from the turn of the last century, 5 ¼ x 8 ¾ × 1 inches.
